This documentation is for setting up your DashClicks custom domain. This is not for setting up your Agency Website custom domain. If you're looking for that article you can find it HERE.

Before beginning, if you do not have a domain name yet you can purchase one HERE.

Dash Clicks automatically creates your agency a domain name once you sign up. However, you can also add a domain name of your choice to completely white-label the platform.

You have 2 options you can use:

  1. Setup a sub domain. Here's an example: dash.mydomain.com
  2. Setup a root domain. A root domain is just your regular domain name. Here's an example: mydomain.com

We recommend setting up option #1, as your company website will most likely already be on your root domain,

Just follow these simple steps to get your custom domain name setup.

Here's A Walkthrough Tutorial Video:

Option #1: Setup A Custom Sub Domain (Recommended)

1. Click the "My Agency" link in the main menu of your dashboard, then click "Custom Domain" in the sub-menu.

2. Then, click on the "Custom Domain" tab.

3. Once there, enter the desired sub-domain name in to the text field. Make sure this is a domain that you own or have access to.

example: dash.mydomain.com

4. Hit “Save Changes” and the page will refresh with the status of the sub-domain name. It will say ‘Not Ready’ in red because your CNAME record is not setup yet.

5. Next, login into your cPanel or DNS Hosting to edit your domain DNS records. Add a CNAME pointing to your Dash Clicks domain name, which can be found here:

For example, if the subdomain you chose is dash.mydomain.com, your CNAME should look like this:

Host Name/Alias: dash
Value/Destination: demo.dashclicks.com

6. Once the CNAME has been configured and it has propagated (can take several hours), the status button that previously said "Not Ready" will change to “Activate Domain” in green.

7. Click on the green “Activate Domain” button to finish the domain configuration. The system will automatically start redirecting to the new domain once it’s ready.

** IMPORTANT **

You should not try to navigate directly to the custom domain until the dashboard has started using it on its own. Doing so could prevent the process from finishing.

Option #2: Setup A Root Domain

1. Click the "My Agency" link in the main menu of your dashboard, then click "Custom Domain" in the sub-menu.

2. Then, click on the "Custom Domain" tab.

3. Once there, enter the desired domain name in to the text field (including www.) Make sure this is a domain that you own or have access to.

example: www.mydomain.com

4. Hit “Save Changes” and the page will refresh with the status of the domain name. It will say ‘Not Ready’ in red because your CNAME record is not setup yet.

5. Next, login into your cPanel or DNS Hosting to edit your domain DNS records. Add a CNAME record to www pointing to your Dash Clicks domain name, which can be found below.

For example, if the subdomain you chose is www.mydomain.com, your CNAME should look like this:

Host Name/Alias: www
Value/Destination: demo.dashclicks.com

6. After the configuration is complete and you can access the dashboard using www.yourdomain.com. We recommend redirecting the root domain yourdomain.com to www.yourdomain.com. (Refer to your hosting provider for instructions on how to do this last step)

7. Once complete, the status button will change to “Activate Domain” in green. This button might take several hours to turn green until your DNS records propagate, so hang tight.
