This guide will walk you through how to properly assign a custom domain for your newly purchased website within GoDaddy.

Whenever you purchase a website, it will be live under a pre-generated domain. If you wish to switch to a custom domain that you own, please follow the instructions below:

Before you can begin this process, make sure you have access to the following:

How to Add DNS Records for Your Custom Domain

  1. From within your GoDaddy account, click on Domain Control Center.

  2. Select the Domain you’re using to access the Domain Settings page.

  3. Navigate to Additional Settings and select Manage DNS.

  4. Under Records, select Add.

  5. For the Type, choose CNAME.

  6. For the Host, enter “www

  7. For Points To, enter “s.multiscreensite.com

  8. Under TTL, select a time frame (1 hour)

  9. Click Save.

  10. Under Records, select Add.

  11. For the type, choose A.

  12. For the Host, enter “@

  13. For Points To, enter “35.172.94.1

  14. Under TTL, select a time frame (1 hour)

  15. Click Save.

  16. Under Records, select Add.

  17. For the Type, choose A.

  18. For the Host, enter “@

  19. For Points To, “100.24.208.97

  20. Under TTL, select a time frame (1 hour)

  21. Click Save.

With this process complete, your custom domain will now point to your website. While this may happen quickly, it can often take up to 48 hours for your registrar to propagate these new DNS settings. Please allow for the full period before attempting to edit your settings again. If your website still does not appear after this period, please contact your registrar for more information.
