How to Access Your SEO Onboarding

After your successful checkout, you and your client will need to fill out onboarding documentation.

Purchasing a subscription for a client will prompt our system to send an automated email on your behalf prompting them to access the sub-account for their business. After gaining access to their new sub-account, they will be able to find and complete the onboarding for the SEO service.

Alternatively, you may choose to send the onboarding to yourself at the time of checkout. When you are prompted with 'Who is This Order for?', select Send the Onboarding to Me. We will then send the documents to your registered email address.

Know that you can also find any onboarding forms by navigating to the Projects app. Then, select your client and click Forms.

Here's what we will need from your client:

Login Credentials

Website Login

You will begin the onboarding process by providing critical information regarding your website. We will require the URL, the login credentials for the backend, and access to your hosting page. While you can technically take measures to improve your SEO without a website, having one is critical to getting real results from our service.

Note - Hosting access is not vital for helping your SEO results. We only ask for the credentials in the rare event that a website issue cannot be resolved through backend access alone.

Google Accounts

Lastly, we will require access to your Google Analytics and Google Search Console accounts. These tools assist in analyzing data gathered from your website, while the latter allows us to quickly index updates to your website within Google. If you do not have these accounts, simply click ‘No, Create a New Account.’ We will then create accounts on behalf of your business.

Note - If you know that your client has these accounts, but has lost access, we cannot help you regain access. You can refer to Google’s help desk as well as this troubleshooter for assistance.

Rankings & Competitors

This section focuses on the area you’re likely most concerned about - keyword ranking. You can add as many keywords as you would like to the fields provided. You can also click the blue ‘+’ to add more fields as necessary. Remember, you will only be able to track as many keywords as your current subscription plan allows.

Choosing the Right Keywords

If you’re unsure of what keywords to include, consider the various terms or phrases users might use to find your business. These keywords should be relevant, describe your products or services, and be a focal point of your website. Typically, one keyword will be the focus of each website page.

Using a plumber as an example, here are some potential keyword options:

  • New York City Plumber

  • Plumbing Services NYC

  • Plumbing Company NYC

These keywords attempt to factor in location as well as other words users may use when “plumber” or “plumbing” may be too generic on their own.

Don’t worry too much about getting your keywords exactly right. Our team of experts will perform the necessary research to scout out the competition and give you the best opportunity for success. We will run all keyword selections by you and your client before beginning service.

In this section, you should also make note of any pages you would like to help rank. For example, your About Us or Contact page is not nearly as important for SEO as an informative service page. Your contact page will be most relevant to someone already on your website, whereas ranking for your “Plumbing Services” page will be more advantageous for acquiring new visitors.

Your Top Competitors

Finally, list out as many of your direct competitors as you would like. Be mindful to reference local competitors that directly influence your own business. For example, a local restaurant would not list a global franchise such as McDonald’s as a top competitor. We are focusing on outranking businesses nearby and of a similar scale to your own.

Target Demographic

This is a quick section that allows us to get a better understanding of your targeting preferences. Simply indicate whether you’re looking to target more locally or if your business is focused at a statewide level. If you are interested in targeting multiple states, please list them here.

Services or Products

This final section focuses on helping us get a better understanding of your offerings. These are most relevant to your SEO and keyword selection as it is likely how users will find your website. We will be able to utilize our professional SEO tools to explore additional keyword ranking options as we gain a better understanding of your business.

If you have a broad catalog of products or services and wish to rank for one specifically, please indicate it in the final field shown.
