Step-By-Step Guide to Setting up a Custom Domain for Your Funnel With DreamHost

1. Navigate to DreamHost's Manage Websites page:

Go to the Manage Websites page, you need to open the DNS Settings page for your domain.

2. Add a CNAME Record:

  1. Click the Add Record button.

  2. Hover over the CNAME Record section and click the ADD link.

  3. In the 'Host' field, you can enter 'www' to point the www subdomain away from DreamHost.

  4. In the 'Points to' field, enter the CNAME value generated in the DashClicks' Funnels settings.

  5. Click the Add Record button to save. This begins the propagation for the new record, which can take up to 6 hours.

Note: If you encounter an error stating "You already have a record for this name. You can't have a CNAME and any other record on the same name.", you must set your domain to DNS Only first before proceeding.

3. Add TXT Records:

In your domain's DNS Settings page, add two TXT records using the values generated in the DashClicks' Funnels settings.

  1. Click the Add Record button.

  2. Hover over the TXT Record section and click the ADD link.

  3. In the 'Host' field, you can leave it blank.

  4. In the 'TXT Value' field, enter the first TXT record value generated in the DashClicks' Funnels settings.

  5. Click the Add Record button to save.

  6. Repeat the process for the second TXT record.

4. Validate Domain Configuration:

Once you have set up the CNAME and TXT records, go back to the DashClicks' Funnels settings, and press the 'Validate Domain Configuration' button. If you've followed all the steps correctly, the domain and SSL statuses should show 'Connected'. If they do not, double-check the DNS records and make sure you've entered everything correctly.

Note: DNS records may take 24โ€“48 hours to update across the entire internet. Different internet users may get different results when they try to visit or use your site during that time.
