Step-By-Step Guide to Setting Up Your Custom Dashboard Domain with HostGator

1. Access HostGator:

Log into your HostGator account.

2. Navigate to Domains:

Locate the 'Domains' section and select 'Zone Editor'.

3. Choose Desired Domain:

Enter and select the domain name you wish to use for your dashboard.

4. Manage Domains:

Click on 'Manage'.

5. Add a CNAME Record:

Within the Zone Editor, click on '+ CNAME Record'. This will enable 'CNAME' as the record type.

6. Add Subdomain Prefix:

In the 'Name' field, add a prefix for your subdomain. The prefix is what appears before the original domain name. For example, if you were configuring the domain for dash.mydomain.com, you would input 'dash' in the 'Name' field.

7. Keep Default TTL:

Leave the TTL field as the default option.

8. Input Value:

In the 'Record' field, enter 's.dashboardmode.com'.

9. Verify and Add Record:

Check that each field is correct. Then, select 'Add Record' to finalize.

After completing these steps, refer back to the primary article to finish setting up your custom dashboard domain. Please note, changes to DNS settings can take up to 48 hours to fully propagate across the internet.

Note: This guide is for users utilizing HostGator. If your domain is hosted by another provider, the process might differ. Please consult your provider's support documentation or contact their support team for precise instructions.
