Note: Access to the Custom Dashboard Domain feature is exclusively available to DashClicks Pro plan subscribers.
Step-by-Step Guide to Set Up Your Dashboard Custom Domain
1. Access Dashboard Settings:
Hover over the navigation bar on the left side of the dashboard. At the very bottom, you'll find a section displaying your name, email, and photo. Click on this section. A menu will pop up; select 'Settings'.
2. Access Branding Settings:
On the left-side column, under 'Business Settings', select 'Branding'.
3. Modify Domain Name Setting:
Click 'Edit' on the right to change the 'Domain Name' setting. Input your desired custom domain name for your dashboard. Please reference the examples provided above for root domains and subdomains. Finally, click 'Save'.
Note: You can configure this feature either as a root domain or a subdomain. Root domains contain the normal 'www' followed by your domain. With subdomains, you can select your prefix based on your preference, such as app.mydomain.com, dash.mydomain.com, etc.
4. Edit Your Domain DNS Records:
Next, log into your registrar/domain hosting provider and edit your domain's DNS records:
Select the record type 'CNAME'
In the 'Name' field, add a prefix for your subdomain. The prefix is what appears before the original domain name. For example, if you were configuring the domain for dash.mydomain.com, you would input 'dash' in the 'Name' field. The prefix configured here should match with the one input in the DashClicks dashboard
In the 'Data' or 'Value' field (there are different names depending on the provider), input 's.dashboardmode.com'
If your domain is registered with any of the following companies, we've provided detailed instructions for each one. Please complete the steps outlined in their respective guides, then return here to complete the process:
5. Await SSL Generation:
From here, no further action is required from your side. The system will automatically add your domain to a queue and generate an SSL when it's your domain's turn. This change can take some time to propagate within your registrar.
Note: This step might take up to 48 hours. If it hasn't been at least that long, the system is likely still processing your request in the queue. Once complete, the URL will be displayed in bold text.
6. Add Additional DNS Records (If Needed):
If you had performed all the steps mentioned above and your domain still shows 'Pending' in the dashboard, make sure to add the following (2) DNS records to the domain:
First Record:
Type - CAA
Name/Value - @
CA domain name/Target - pki.goog
Flag - 0
Tag - issue or issuewild
Second Record:
Type - CAA
Name/Value - @
CA domain name/Target - letsencrypt.org
Flag - 0
Tag - issue or issuewild
Note: If you have one or both of the records already as part of the domain DNS, you do not need to add them again. Make sure to set the TTL of the records as low as permitted by your registrar. You can toggle the TTL limits to reprapagate the records if needed as a form of troubleshooting.
