Updated over a week ago

This guide will walk you through how to properly add DNS records for your custom branded email domain within BlueHost.

These instructions will help you validate your domain after generating the CNAME records within the dashboard for the custom email domain.

What You Need to Set Up Your Custom Email Domain

Before you can begin this process, make sure you have access to the following:

  • A BlueHost account

  • Ability to create a CNAME record in BlueHost DNS settings

How to Add DNS Records for Your Custom Email Domain

  1. Log in to your BlueHost hosting account.

  2. From the side navigation menu, click on the Domains tab. Then, click on the Zone Editor option.

  3. Select your desired domain using the dropdown box.

  4. Scroll down to the Add DNS Record section.

  5. In the Host Record field, enter the Host that was generated in the dashboard.

  6. Leave the TTL field as the default option.

  7. Under Type, select CNAME.

  8. In the Points To field, enter the Value that was generated in the dashboard.

  9. If everything appears correct, select β€œAdd Record”. Repeat the process two more times so all three CNAME records have been added.

With this process complete, you can now navigate back to your dashboard and Validate. If the CNAME records were input correctly, you should be all set to continue with your custom branded email domain in the dashboard!
