Step-By-Step Guide to Accessing Your Sites Editor

1. Access Applications Menu:

Hover over the navigation bar to the left of the dashboard and select ‘Sites’.

2. Navigate to the 'My Website' Tab:

Once you're in the 'Sites' application, make sure you're on the 'My Website' tab. Locate and click the 'Edit' button positioned at the top right corner of the page.

Note: A new tab will open displaying your website within the website editor. You can make changes as necessary, but remember these changes will not be live on your website until you click 'Republish'.

Understanding the Sites Editor

Keep in mind that all changes, deliberate or accidental, will be shown in the website preview. This is important if your clients are already reviewing the site.

1. Understanding the Main Menu:

The main editor menu is located on the left side of the page. It includes the following tabs:

  • THEME - Here, you can edit global design features, which are reflected throughout the entire website.

  • PAGES - This is where you create, name, and organize your website's pages. You can also create popups, edit SEO metadata, and restrict access.

  • WIDGETS - These are small applications you can use to add specific sections or features to your website. This includes text boxes, Google Maps displays, and social media icon links.

  • CONTENT - This is your content library. The information you provided during website building is here. The editor uses this information to customize the website.

  • PERSONALIZE - This allows you to create custom rules for various design features and widgets within the website editor.

  • ECOMMERCE - If you have an e-Commerce store activated, you can manage your store and products here.

  • BLOG - This enables you to add, manage, and publish blog posts independently from the rest of the site.

  • SEO & SETTINGS - This houses setup tools for backend settings such as favicons, custom domains, SSL certificates, and more.

2. Understanding the Top Menu

The top menu houses several essential features:

  • Page Selection - Navigate your main website pages using this dropdown.

  • Device View - Three icons representing a desktop PC, a tablet, and a mobile device. Clicking on these will update your page view in the editor to match the browsing experience on that device.

  • Search the Editor - The magnifying glass allows you to search the editor for tips and help articles.

  • Info & Tools - This contains general site information. Here, you can change the editor language, preview stats, and obtain a preview link.

  • Save Confirmation - A checkmark that shows whether the editor has saved your changes.

  • Undo and Redo Edits - Arrows that allow you to undo or redo edits respectively.

  • Developer Mode - Opens the text editor for editing HTML and CSS.

  • Preview - Allows a quick transition from editing mode to preview mode.

  • Editor Help Center - The question mark icon opens a new tab, taking you to the help center.

Managing Your Edits

As you navigate through the editor, feel free to experiment and learn. The 'undo' and 'redo' options are available for any changes you're unsatisfied with. However, note that once you leave the editor, these options won't work. If necessary, manually restore the site to its previous state.

For more specific actions within the editor, visit the website editor help center.
