Step-By-Step Guide to Installing Live Chat on Your WordPress Site

This guide provides instructions to install the live chat on your WordPress website using the Conversations App. For information about generating the script for your site, see the primary help article.

Note: We've detailed the technical route of editing site files, applicable to all WordPress users. Caution is recommended as incorrect implementation might break certain site elements.

1. Access Website Editor:

Log into the WordPress backend to reach your website editor. On the left side, select the 'Appearance' option.

2. Select Theme Editor:

A submenu will appear after you select 'Appearance'. In this submenu, locate and select the 'Theme Editor' option.

3. Access Theme Header:

Within the Theme Editor, locate the 'Theme Header (header.php)' option on the right side and select it.

4. Enter Live Chat Script:

Find the closing body tag (</body>) and paste the script you copied from the Conversations App just above this tag.

5. Save Changes:

Locate and select the 'Update File' button to save the changes you've made.

6. Check the Live Chat Functionality:

Navigate to your site to verify the live chat bubble's presence at the bottom of the site.

Note: If you're unable to see the live chat bubble, revisit your steps and ensure you've copied the correct script from the Conversations App.
