This article will provide you with specific instructions on how to install live chat on your WordPress website after you have generated your script using the Conversations App.
Note: WordPress gives you the ability to add custom scripts by editing site files but this requires some technical experience within the dashboard. The easiest way to add the necessary script onto a WordPress site for beginners would be to download a plugin that allows you to edit Headers/Footers easily and input the code there. In this article we will go over the more technical route of editing site files, as this would apply to all WordPress users. We would encourage you to be cautious though because incorrect implementation may break elements of the site.
Go to your website editor by logging into the WordPress backend. Then on the left rail, select the "Appearance" option.
When the submenu opens up, select "Theme Editor".
Within the Theme Editor, select "Theme Header (header.php)" on the right rail.
Locate the closing body tag (</body>) and input the copied script right above that tag.
Select the "Update File" button.
Now when navigating to the site, you should be able to the live chat bubble at the bottom of the site!
