Step-By-Step Guide to Installing Live Chat on Your Wix Website
This guide provides you with the necessary steps to install live chat on your Wix website using the Conversations App. For information about generating the script for your site, see the primary help article.
1. Access Wix Website Editor:
Log into your Wix backend to access the website editor.
2. Navigate to Settings:
Within the website editor, find and select the 'Settings' section.
3. Open Custom Code Tab:
Locate the 'Advanced' section, then find and click on the 'Custom Code' tab.
4. Add Custom Code:
At the top right of this section, locate and select the '+ Add Custom Code' button.
5. Input Live Chat Script:
You will find a field labelled 'Paste the code snippet here:'. Paste the copied script from the Conversations App in this field.
6. Specify Domain and Name Your Code:
Select the appropriate domain where you are installing the live chat. Assign a unique and recognizable name to your code for easy future reference.
7. Determine Code Placement:
Decide where you want the code to be placed. It is suggested to select 'Body - end' under 'Place Code in:' for the best results.
8. Apply the Changes:
After specifying the code placement, locate and click the 'Apply' button.
9. Verify Live Chat Functionality:
Finally, navigate to your website. You should be able to see the live chat bubble at the bottom of the site.
Note: If the live chat bubble is not visible, revisit your steps and ensure you have pasted the correct script from the Conversations App.
