Step-By-Step Guide to Adding Tracking Codes to Your Funnel Using the Funnels Application
1. Access Applications Menu:
Hover over the navigation bar to the left of the dashboard and select ‘Funnels’.
2. Select a Funnel:
From the list of funnels, select the funnel that you plan to add the tracking codes to. If you don't have any funnels yet, make sure you create a funnel first by pressing the '+ New Funnel' button at the top right of the page.
3. Add Tracking Codes:
There are two ways that you can add tracking codes to your funnel. You can have the tracking codes placed on the header/footer of the entire funnel using the funnel Settings or you can place the tracking codes on the header/footer of individual pages. There are different reasons why you would select one or the other but we'll go through the steps for each.
Add Tracking Codes to the Entire Funnel:
With the funnel selected, press on the 'Settings' tab at the top of the page
At the bottom of the Settings menu, you have two boxes, one for 'Header Tracking Code' and another for 'Footer Tracking Code'. Input the codes in the designated areas as needed
Press the 'Save' button once complete
Add Tracking Codes to Individual Pages of the Funnel:
With the funnel selected, press on the page (step) of the funnel that you want to add the tracking codes to
On the right side of the page, select the 'Settings' button
In the menu that pops up, navigate to the 'Tracking Code' tab
You will see two boxes, one for 'Header Script' and another for 'Footer Script'. Input the codes in the designated areas as needed
Press the 'Save' button once complete
Note: The main differentiating instructions for the two sets of instructions for adding tracking codes is that for the entire funnel, you'll press the 'Settings' tab at the top of the page and for the individual pages, you'll press the 'Settings' button on the right side of the page.
